Local Cafe's Art Exhibit

Java Jam is a coffee shop in Balanga City, Bataan that also doubles as an art gallery for local contemporary artists. I am not a coffee drinker, but I do frequent the place to meet with some friends. Sometimes I just wanted to relax and admire the paintings while sipping on some hot choco.

The paintings of A. R. Tiamzon, Jr. are featured during my recent visit to the coffee shop. He used oil on canvass as medium. His works are for sale, ranging from 3,500 - 6,500 pesos. A nude woman with almost perfect body is the subject of most of his paintings. The faces of his subjects are hidden and sometimes showing a painful feeling of humiliation. Most are painted using dark and fiery colors that for me signifies strong feeling of displeasure. Circular lines associated with fertility surrounded the subject of one of his paintings. The almost perfect figures of the women showed how the artist adores the curves of  a woman's body while the expressions on the subjects faces revealed how he wanted them to always comply with his commands.
